We are happy to welcome you to our uniquely situated domaine, amidst beautiful nature and only a stone’s throw from the romantic Canal du Midi. Le Petit Viala offers a wide range of activities; there are various walking and biking possibilities, you can try wines from the surrounding wineries, taste the southern French kitchen in one of the restaurants in the nearby villages or enjoy the sun in and around our spacious heated pool.

We are Patricia and Gregg, a young and dynamic Belgian couple. We've always had an 'international look on life', and in 2015 we've made the move from Belgium to France with our two young daughters. Fresh air, lots of sunshine, a natural environment, a handful of shy sheep and a goat, dogs, potbelly pigs, many different fruit trees and over a hundred olive trees ... Le Petit Viala is a world on its own and is the perfect getaway for everyone looking for a peaceful stay in a stunning natural environment.

Le Petit Viala is situated in the Hérault department, in the middle of nature and in the close vicinity of Béziers and Narbonne. Our domaine is just outside the hamlet of Le Viala, which belongs to the village of Capestang, a charming village built around the Canal du Midi. The smaller village Poilhes, situated on a hill along the Canal, is also closeby. Why not rent your own boat to cruise along the Canal for an hour or more? The area is perfect for sporty people as there are many walking and (mountain)biking routes close to Le Petit Viala. Both the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees are easily accesible. The old city Carcassonne is the biggest fortress of Europe and consists of a reinforced core – the Cité – and the Chateau Comtal. The newer and lower part of Carcassonne has much to offer too; nice shopping streets and cozy squares with terraces. Carcassonne is a one-hour drive from Le Petit Viala. You can sunbathe or relax on our domaine, but if you like you can also drive to one of the nearby Mediterranean beaches of Gruissan, Valras, Vendres, Sète, Sérignan or Cap d’Agde.
