Perfect for a couple La Tuilerie Grange at La Tuilerie de la Roussie is ideally situated on the banks of the River Vézere in the pre-historic area known as the 'Vallée de L'Homme' between the fascinating town of Les Eyzies and market town of Le Bugue. The property has direct access to the River Vézere ideal for fishing and nature watching, also there is a 12km cycle path; from here you can cycle/walk along the river bank to Le Bugue / Les Eyzies and beyond. We offer you FREE MOUNTAIN (VTT) BIKES LOAN* during your stay and a FREE KAYAK EXPERIENCE*; we can take you with the kayak to Les Eyzies for you to kayak down the river (for approximately 1 hour) directly back to your accommodation. *Subject to availability and river water level conditions. The characterful accommodation exclusively for adults has two double bedrooms and both have en-suite shower rooms. The fully equipped kitchen is open plan to the living area and looks out over the courtyard of La Tuilerie de la Roussie manor House and Le Petit Chateau. The television has French or UK Freeview TV channels available plus, with new fibre high speed broadband, Netflix is now available. La Tuilerie Grange has a terrace with table & chairs, plus a separate private garden/decking/BBQ area. The fabulous 12m x 5m heated swimming pool is situated next to our manor house, here you can relax on luxurious comfortable sun loungers (pool towels provided) and sun shade umbrellas. Most of the time you will have this space to yourselves, please note that guests from our other adult only (2 person) gite 'Le Petit Chateau' also have access to the pool. The well-kept gardens are a magnet for birds so it's great for bird watching. La Tuilerie de la Roussie is quite secluded without being isolated. La Tuilerie de la Roussie is just 5 minutes away from local restaurants, shops, supermarkets and other amenities. Around and about you can soak up the beauty of the Dordogne with its amazing chateaux and visit the many pre-historic caves and cultural experiences through 'The Valley of Man'. The local single-track train line runs adjacent to our garden and Le Bugue train station a short 10 minute walk away where you can take the train to Perigueux the capital of the Dordogne. Your host is happy to pick you up from the train station to bring you back to your accommodation. Our location is a perfect base to either see the sites or just relax and be. Feel safe here within your own space stroll through the gardens and see the fish in the pond. Social distancing is easy with only the owners and perhaps two adult guests from the one other gite (Le Petit Chateau) on this 2 acre property which has an open field to one side and a walnut tree orchard to the other with river frontage. Please note: Because we have so many water features and open to the river without safety fences and barriers this property is not suitable for children and the minimum age for all guests is 18 years old. Also to note, the stairs to the bedrooms may not be suitable for the elderly or those with reduced mobility. Officially classified as 4 Stars by the Comité Départemental du Tourisme de la Dordogne. .
