Welcome to this beautiful baroque bijou, which offers modern, high-end contemporary comfort in ancient walls - she is 300 years old! The house gets some TLC now - hence only outside photos - but be our guest by mid-June for an unforgettable holiday. Enjoy Chateau living, a new 12 x 5 meter pool & an historic forest as part of its 5 HA private park. The Chateau offers a perfect 550 sqm of living space: a generous ground floor is made up from a huge country house kitchen with South-facing patio doors - the room floods with THAT Provençal light. Duck through a huge arch in the 2 m thick wall and find a formal dining room with a huge, rustic fire-place. Cross the landing and peek upstairs the beautiful, strong staircase, the house's axis. Next, the grand salon with its grand piano and an elegant fireplace, as much as an Art Deco Liquor cabinet and snug sofas et relax in. Fronting this, is the African Games room - the owner has spent her childhood in Kenya and this room bears witness to it. Perfect for a game of Billiard or Scrabble! On the 1st floor, you have three air-conditioned three suites with a bedroom, a sitting room / second bedroom and a bathroom each. Each room has classic southern French 'tomettes' floors and is furnished in a eclectic mix of modern classics and vintage Provençal 'meubles' as much as cosy soft furnishing. Two bedrooms give towards the South and the English Garden, while the third offers views towards the Historic Park behind, which is also part of the property. On the 2nd floor, there are more bedrooms, some with en-suite bathrooms, some shared WEDDINGS: you can also book it for the biggest day of your love-life. As this is our first summer, we offer VERY preferential rates - 50% discount. We have our own, dedicated wedding planner, who will make things a breeze for you! Do get in touch: there are NO DIY weddings.
We are a very international family - Ellen (an author and journalist), Tobias (an international health-tech visionary and entrepreneur), three sons ('please leave us out of this, mum!') and a chubby fox-red Labrador Lady called Honey - and we look forward to welcoming guests form all over the world, who will love our beautiful chateau in the heart of the Provence as much as we do - soyez les bienvenus! We have been dreaming about a place like this for many years and are delighted to share it with you. Any questions, please ask. We want you to feel right at home. xx
The Chateau is set in a medieval village with a picturesque Saturday market, shops, cafes and restaurants as well as public transport. You can walk to the boulanger in the morning and fetch your croissants! The Mont Ventoux rises behind, so get hiking and biking; also vineyards roll as far as your eyes reach and there's an amazing 7 km drystone wall hike right behind the house. The village has 3 poney-clubs for riding excursions, a paint-ball arena and easy access to France's biggest water park, Wave Island. France's most beautiful villages such as Venasques and Perne-les-fontaines are next door neighbours. The house is located a perfect hour from Marseille airport, and only 25 min from Avignon and its Palais des Papes, the fringe festival and its great shops and Michelin Restaurants. France's center of the antique trade L'Isle sur la Sorgue and the vienyards of the Chateauneuf du Pape are 20 min drive away.
