We fell in love with this central area of Käylä village 5 years ago ourselves, we are at out cottage 3km away from the apartment most of the year. We love the same nature activities as do the people that might want to stay in this place we thought would be perfect for nature activity lovers to just chill after the days activities. The views are such that we love them too. We stay often is similar accommodations all over Nordics so put my best effort with eco friendly circular economy to make this place a place that I would myself want to stay in for a holiday. Host has made a folder where you can book activities locally and can give tips prior to arrival. Endless options in four different season year round in three national parks and rivers & lakes nearby + of course skiing in Ruka. Both Ruka and Oulanka are about 15min drive away. Grocery store is 500m away as is the bus connection to Helsinki night train via Kemijärvi. Kuusamo airport is 15km away. Also within a 40-60min drive away you can find the popcorn winter tree renowed Riisitunturi national park and also the latest addition to national parks, Salla. You can drive to arctic circle also in some 20+ minutes - the gateway to bear hiking trail in Oulanka national park "Karhunkierros". Fishing, canoeing and just flora and fauna and of course reindeers are the thing here.
