Poblado Jirdana, is a set of 5 houses of traditional architecture El Hierro, although currently there are 2 exclusive service to our customers. Populated Jirdana is located in the heart of the World Biosphere Reserve (UNESCO, 2000) El Hierro, in the village of Isora, 8 minutes from the capital of the island (where the airport and the PTO is. La Stake gateways on the island), in a central location to visit and all tourist attractions, scenic and ethnographic available to the Meridian Island. Houses belonging to the same family, were built at different times, around mid-nineteenth century, using the dry stone, wood and tile French type, as the mud and the cement was not known. The rehabilitation of the first house was held in 2000 and 2nd in 2011, following the advice of the old master craftsmen of stone and wood that still live on the island. They have used sustainable materials and computers work: local stone, wood from sustainable forests, mud handmade, handmade tiles, etc., and low energy equipment: fridge, stove, air, etc.

I and Pino, my partner, started this project in 1999, given that we realized that the historical heritage of the island Meridian (El Hierro) was disappearing at top speed. We ask for credit, buy a group of houses in ruins and immediately got to work on the rehabilitation of the first house. Jirdana village, since then, it has become our hobby, because our work has nothing to do with tourism. Throughout the year, many moments and days we spent working and improving our houses, like everyone else, need a strict and careful maintenance, in order to offer our customers an original and unique product, flavored tradition. For over 30 years we practice rural tourism, in the Canary Islands, as on the mainland and abroad, because we think it is the best way to know the identity of a place and all that it encompasses: landscapes, ethnography, history, customs , crafts, culinary characteristics, etc. Jirdana town has become the center of our lives, and thanks to them, we have met many who today are men and women.

Isora, was one of the peoples of the mediocrities of richer and more prosperous because of its excellent soils where extensive farming is done and seasonal fruits are produced during all seasons island. In addition, due to the goodness of its climate and the amount of grass that produce their meadows, he stressed throughout history have excellent producing beef cattle, particularly milk, which has dominated the goat and sheep and to a lesser extent the cow. This is the reason why El Majano, near Poblado Jirdana, the island's cheese factory is located, "the herreño cheese", which has become world famous for its taste and quality.
