La Caye – Creole for "home" – is a beautiful place to unwind and let your soul relax while enjoying the stunning views.
Located at the end of a small road, above the picturesque village of Calibishie, which offers fantastic restaurants, bars, and little shops, La Caye enjoys the peace and tranquility of its surroundings. The view from the balcony, with its breathtaking colors in the morning, the sunset in the evening, the northern bay of Dominica, and the lush garden vegetation, make La Caye truly unique.
The open floor plan of the entire house, combined with fans, ensures a pleasant breeze even on hot days. Separate bedrooms, each with its own adjoining bathroom, still provide private retreats. The balcony is accessible from every room.
Welcome to Calibishie, Dominica!
The house is fully managed by locals who have taken it to heart. Whether it’s cleaning, gardening, maintenance, or other tasks – everything is in local hands. This means that with every booking, the local people and economy are directly supported.
Everyone does their best to make your stay as pleasant as possible and is happy to assist with any questions you may have.
Calibishie may be small, but it has a lot to offer.
Charming restaurants and bars right by the sea, little shops, and roadside stands with fresh fruits and vegetables give the village its lively character.
Some of Dominica’s most beautiful beaches are just a short drive away, including Batibou Beach, Number One Beach, Woodford Hill Beach, and a few hidden gems waiting to be discovered.
Hikes to the mystical Bwa Nef Falls or the beautiful Chaudière Pool are also nearby, as are other local attractions such as Red Rocks, the chocolate factory, the gin distillery, and more.
Please note:
Since Dominica, as an island nation, is exposed to nature, there are (very rarely) occasional short-term power or water outages. There is a water tank on the property that is always well filled to bridge such situations. The house is located in a quiet residential area. Occasionally, chickens and roosters roam freely and may make their presence known in the mornings. The neighbor has dogs on his property — they are leashed but do occasionally engage in typical dog behavior, such as barking.
