Nice 200 years old house with amazing view in the heart of Switzerland. The house is located in quiet area away from town! Rooms with comfortable beds, full furnished kitchen, bathroom and separate toilet. The Apartment for our guests has a separate entry. In summer this place is popular for tracking tourism, paragliding and mountain bike. In winter - skiing, sledding and paragliding also. We will love to help our guests with organizing activities :)
We are funny and outgoing people, looooove to travel and meet new people! We would like to see you in our house in the mountains. Always welcome! :) We (Svetlana & Florian) are most of the time around in this area and will help you to give an answer to your questions. If we are not around you can call or write us a message and we can give you a ride to the village or maybe you can join us to the top of Mount Niederbauen for a hike. If you want you can also fly down from there with a paraglider.
This area is one of the most important places in Switzerland. The well know story of Wilhelm Tell happened here. Wilhelm Tell was shooting the apple from the head of his son with the wooden crossbow. That happened in Altdorf. On the half way between Altdorf and Beckenried is the Rütli - the place were the old confederates did the oath against the Habsburger imperators in 1291. In the opposite of the lake is Küstnacht and the famous Rigi mountain. Friedrich Schiller - the German writer described in his Wilhelm Tell story how Wilhelm escaped from the hand of the Vogt Gaessler and killed him in Küstnacht. If you are interested in the fairytale you should do the trip with the cruise ship from Beckenried to Altdorf and make some stops on this places to hear and see more about how Switzerland became Switzerland. We recommend to take a car. We are living in the mountains. Outside of the village. We are not connected to public transport. If you don’t want to rent a car you can come with public transport and then walk up to the mountain around 40 min. to our house. In winter 4WD car and chains on the tires are necessary!
