The ‘Vrijdagmarkt’ (Friday Market) is a step away from Groenplaats, Grote Markt, our Cathedral, the fashion district (Nationalestraat, Kammenstraat), the antiques and vintage street (Kloosterstraat), the shopping area (Meir, Huidevettersstraat) and musea. Everything you need (or don’t need) you’ll have at your finger tips: restaurants, bars, designer & furniture stores, supermarkets, bakery shops, hair salons. And yet, the "Vrijdagmarkt" square is a very quiet, small and folksy place. It lends itself perfectly to sipping coffee or to have a beer with locals, in one of the bars and to experiencing the weekly auction on Friday morning when the square is piled with furniture, old stuff and, perhaps, the treasure of your life time!
