I came to Magnetic Island for 4 nights 25 years ago. It's definitely magnetic and despite having to leave for work a couple of times in the early days, I found a way to live here forever. I live and work on Maggie and love the relaxed outdoor lifestyle. People sometimes ask if I get bored - never! There's so much more to do than in a city - even the same beautiful walking trail presents different views and experiences every time. There's still things I want to do that I haven't got round to, stand-up paddle boarding is next for me! I love meeting people who are taking their first trip to the island and experiencing just how much it offers, the secret is getting out as the island gets busier, yet you can still go to a stunning deserted beach and see nobody else there, no wonder it's magnetic! Centrally located in Arcadia, this spacious home is offered as a one bedroom couple's retreat. With full kitchen, living area, dining area, King or Twin beds (please advise preference upon booking), modern bathroom with double easy walk-in shower, huge pool, wifi, laundry - everything you need is here. Ideal for longer stays. It's an easy walk to Geoffrey Bay, Alma Bay, the pub, shops and even Nelly Bay.

Arcadia is a village-like leafy suburb with a few cafes, shops and pub, as well as the beautiful Alma Bay and also Geoffrey Bay. There is a dive shop where you can also hire snorkelling gear. There are residential homes in the street and as such this is a no-party property and we would expect guests to respect the neighbourhood and take their fun inside after 10pm. There is a bus stop nearby on Hayles Avenue and the buses travel regularly in both directions to the ferry terminal, Picnic, Nelly and Horseshoe Bay. It's a pleasant 10-15 minute walk to Nelly Bay on the walkway over the hill to the IGA supermarket. Hire cars are available at the ferry terminal on arrival, although it is best to book in advance to avoid disappointment, especially during school holidays. Taxi 131924 also pick up from the ferry terminal. Bring your own car on the Magnetic Island Ferries Car Barge or take the Sealink passenger ferry.
