Sian and Peter West are Principals of Ocean Blue Coastal Retreats and discovered the Mornington Peninsula in 2004 when purchasing a holiday home as an investment. In 2006, Blue Moon Cottages was purchased and a group of four cottages formed the core of the business. Since then, more accommodation was added and we now have a portfolio of more than 40 properties. Their Mornington Peninsula knowledge comes from living on the peninsula since 2008, and working closely with Tourism Victoria and Mornington Peninsula Tourism has built an award-winning tourism business. They are both “hands on” in the business ensuring both guests and owners are provided with attention to detail at every level.

From the white weatherboard exterior to the expansive view of the ocean on the upper deck, its a place where all the family can relax. We can bring along our dog who is safe and secure and in heaven in the large garden. We relax on the deck with a glass of something and watch the container ships go by as they travel to the heads and out to the ocean. With 5 bedrooms there is room for all the family to stay. The kids have their own lounge with TV upstairs while the adults can relax downstairs and cook up a storm in the kitchen. PAWfect What fun! a new house to visit that lets four-legged friends like me sleep inside. Yay! a garden with tall fences to keep me safe. Love the garden beds and lawn where I can sniff around, there are lots of interesting smells. And there’s a special basket just for me. No way! What’s in there? Ooh, ooh! a treat from PAWDINKUM. I LOVE THIS PLACE. Included in your package is a bottle of sparkling wine and small local produce hamper for you to enjoy.

We walk the 25 minutes to the Foreshore and take our bathers for sunbaking and paddling in the shallow clear waters. Our favourite beaches on the whole Peninsula are here in McCrae. You can connect to the Bay Trail, a walking track of 30 kilometres along the foreshore. Starting at the corner of Marine Drive and Point Nepean Rd, a gravel pathway weaves in between the trees on the Dromana Foreshore and takes travellers from the Safety Beach end of Dromana to the McCrae end at the other. The small centre of McCrae (you will know you are there when you see the lighthouse) has a few cafes but the highlight is the Alatonero Restaurant for the most amazing vibe all year round but especially on summer evenings. For the best coffee take a 7-minute stroll from Kasih to Rangas Bakery where you will find all things baked. The No1 place in McCrae according to Tripadvisor (a bit of a hidden treasure).

Please note that there is a 1.7% charge when you pay with a Visa or MasterCard and 3.42% for American Express. A 50% deposit needs to be paid within 48 hours of booking, and the balance at least 30 days in advance of the arrival date via credit card into the secure guest portal we provide or via BPAY. We will also require your direct email address, a photo of you holding your photo ID and a list of guest names and ages to be uploaded into the guest portal before your booking can be confirmed. Guests will receive our full terms and conditions upon booking and payment of monies will constitute agreement to these terms and conditions.
