This is my second year coming here. Second time to extend my staying Twice as well. Never feel enough from here! The owner and the team are great, no where else can host you and makes you feel home and a family member as well like here. Rooms are clean, beds are comfortable, shower heater is working properly, they offer free towel during check-in and one towel on the bed already. Definitely next year will do it for Third. The owner Julius has thought of everything that you could need as a backpacker - free snacks, water, tea, coffee, mints, wipes, earbuds, sanitary products etc. Very social hostel with organised events each night such as going to dinner together, sunset beach picnic, game nights etc. Breakfast was superb with freshly made waffles, bananas, fresh cut watermelon and pineapple, herbal tea and coffee. There's a small air-conditioned gym too! Julius is an absolute laugh and guarantees a happy ending to every stay.

Its a very chill and clean hostel, it has very comfy living room vibes. The highlight was the host, on my second night he was cooking dinner with a friend and invited me to eat with them, with every problem Ive had he helped me out and i even ended up renting his private scooter because i didn’t find a rental with a good price

The Purple House is situated on a main road, but several miles from city center. You will have several restaurants and convenience stores just across the street. There is also a beach nearby. All of that is within easy walking distance. If you want to go to the city center, you will need to use taxis. It’s not a big deal, they are very easy to get, and Amanda will even give you information for a taxi service you can text directly. You can also rent a scooter, but beware because we saw many bandaged up people from scooter accidents and the hospital bills are $6,000+ Just factor the taxis into the cost of your stay here. The atmosphere is nice. Amanda is really friendly and helpful. She will answer you quickly every time. She wants your stay to be nice. The house has 8 beds, a mini fridge and a kettle, a bathroom, and a main gathering space. When I stayed we had 5 and we had no problem taking turns with the bathroom and we did okay with only cooking instant noodles using a kettle. The only part that was frustrating was trying to keep the main area cooled off. We would get the temperature just right and then the housekeeping would come clean and leave the doors to the outside open for an hour and it would get hot again. If they would just keep the doors closed when they cleaned the house would have stayed cooler. I would definitely recommend this house for women traveling. It felt so safe and it was really nice to have automatic friends. Amanda and her husband have done a great job creating that.
