Located a 5-minute stroll from Shimoyoshida Station, Hostel & Salon Saruya offers a renovated 80-year old Japanese-style accommodation with free WiFi. Everything! This place is an absolute gem. Staff are exceptional, the cafe attached is delicious and the rooms are just perfect. Could not recommend more.

The owner was very nice! There was a mix up with the rooms and we had a late check in but the posted number worked and he fixed it immediately! It was very clean and professional and the other guests were all very nice when we met in the common areas!

The owner is an absolute sweetheart. She runs the hostel by herself and does all the cleaning and hostel preparations for your arrival. She is fluent in English as well which is a big plus to foreign travelers. I contacted her that I was going to be checking in slightly late and she said it was alright. The first night I stayed in a bunk and the 2nd night was a private room. I slept very well both nights and the hostel has a very home-y feeling to it. The location is also excellent being <10minute walk from Gekkouji station. Owner recommended me to visit Arakurayama park to get a view of Mt fuji and it was worth it. I went at sunrise with other travelers. It is about 15 minute walk to the location.

The owner was very sweet and kind, she welcomed us with a warm smile, and kindly let us park the car at the car park. The traditional Japanese room was very clean and lovely, and the place was quiet. The room had a view of the majestic Fuji-san, which allowed us to quickly know whether it was visible or covered before leaving the hotel. We simply loved the experience, I highly recommend it!

There are restaurants in front of the hotel and across the street. There's is also a family Mart close to the hotel. The place was really clean and there's is good space in the room. We had two big beds. It was a really comfortable place for us.
