One of the many pleasant aspects of this independent family-like hostel: After I announced arriving late (because of an arduous cycling route) and the wish to store my bicycle indoors, the founder (being a long-distance cyclist traveller himself) waited for me, which then lead to a very interesting exchange of experiences.

Grand Hostel Manin is located in La Spezia, a 15-minute walk from La Spezia Centrale Train Station and 300 metres from the ferry port, both offering links to the UNESCO Cinque Terre National Park. This was a very friendly hostel. The staff made everyone feel very welcome and have very useful tips about the local area and what to see in the Cinqua Terre tailored to how you wanted to do it. They encouraged a real community atmosphere which was so nice. A really great place to stay that I would recommend and would come back to.

Very friendly staff and people in general, very chill and safe environment. The hostel is in the middle of a mountain but bus connection is reasonable. Also Gloria from the Tabacco down street gives you detailed information about everything and she is a very friendly person. I had wonderful time.

Located 300 metres from the sandy beach in Levanto, Ospitalia del Mare is set in a historical building preserving the original décor. Staff are not extremely lovely and helpful, great spot and great hostel.

Just a 15-minute walk from the Mediterranean Sea, Perla del Levante Hostel features a sun terrace and simply furnished rooms with sea views in Framura, a few steps from the centre. The hostel was clean and provided free towels and breakfasts which most other hostels would charge for, even then you are still only paying a fraction of the price compared to any other accommodation in the cinque terre region.
