And if you are into trying local cuisines and drinks, you will find some great recommendations here. I also found the meals prepared by Javed quite delicious. I would definitely love to be back here.

The bathroom was big and spotless. I stayed in a 6-bed mixed dorm, very clean and good AC, really big lockers for each guest. Toilet paper, soap, and shower. Really good stay!

Karma, the owner, is especially helpful, if you're heading to Sikkim after Darjeeling, he has detailed recommendations based off his love for the area, he even went as far to sit down and make me a map of everywhere I should go and how I should get to each place, and phone numbers that might be useful to me along the way. All in all, it was a great and really personable experience, which also seems to draw in lovely customers!!

Had an amazing stay at Hills tale hostel.The location is calm, just walkable from bus stand and market and the owners and staffs were incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout my stay. One of the highlights was the dorm room—it was spacious, well-lit, and the beds were super comfortable, offering a great night's sleep. The room was also kept very clean, and there were lockers for securing valuables. It was a perfect environment for relaxing after a day of exploring. I would definitely recommend Hills tale for anyone looking for a fun, social experience on a budget. I’d happily stay here again.

The best hostel to sleep in before leaving for Sikkim. He is very helpful and will guide you to do the paperwork to go to Sikkim. He can even make photocopies for you! Thanks again.

Sunny is very kind and helpful, he helped us to find a good ride to the guesthouse in the late night after our train was delayed. Also gave us many tips and welcomed us in our late arrival and made us feel like home. The room was clean and comfortable and everything that we asked we received with a smile
