I loved TamaHostel! I visited several hostels in Central America in the last months, and this was by far my favorite. The beds are comfortable and the dorm rooms have AC, the pool and hammocks amazing, the kitchen and bathrooms are practical and cleaned continuously, and the staff were super friendly and helpful! They can organise surf classes if you want :)

The genuine kindness of our hosts was really moving.... Letting us taste different types of juices...helping us to plan our visit to the volcano areas and helping our son who had a skinburn on his arms. The lodge itself is very authentic. The garden benefits from more than 40 years of carefully maintenance with lots of love..with flowers and trees you think you find yourself in a botanical garden. Hummingbirds are flying around your head during breakfast. And finally...the food was gorgeous...homegrown vegetables and fruits and produces such as ricotta cheese..very royal quantities...your own grand mother would not have spoiled you so well. Art. great location. it’s easy to come hangout a couple of days for a visa run, relax and not spend a fortune.

Everything was just wonderful. Mati and Maria are great hosts. They made us feel very welcome in their house. It didn’t feel like a hostel but like a home. We cooked dinner together, played board games with everyone at night and they even took us on a surf trip to another beach. Mati is also a great surf coach himself and you get a discount for surf lessons and board rental when staying with them. The location is perfect, close to the city and the beach. The house is very beautiful with an outside area and balcony you can use. The kitchen and bathroom are very well equipped and always clean. This is the best place we stayed at on our journey and we really enjoyed it. If you go to Tamarindo you shouldn’t miss out on this.

The owner and the entire team are incredibly friendly and always happy to help. What stands out most is the relaxed and welcoming atmosphere – thanks to the great people and the adorable dogs, you feel right at home.
