If you consider that the breakfast is included in the room/bed price (and how expensive eating out in Switzerland is), this is a very good deal (and it was the best, richest breakfast of the four hostels, and gluten free bread also available upon request). EU plugs available and plenty, not necessarily the case in other places.

The Oldtown Hostel Otter and its old-established Wüste Bar is a stylish place for the young-at-heart in Zürich's Old Town, about 300 metres from the Zürich-Stadelhofen train station and the lake. I had a comfortable stay throughout my time there. It's located near the city centre and we meet so many new people. The staff is friendly. The beds are comfortable. They provide free breakfast. The bathroom had shower gels, shampoos so didn't have to carry one. I liked how they gave fresh bedsheets and towels to everyone.

Depot 195 occupies a renovated brick building in a historic factory site in the centre of Winterthur, 500 metres from the train station. It offers a snack bar and free WiFi access. That was the cleanest hostel I’ve ever stayed at, and the staff was super friendly! Loved it!

The staff was pretty nice, greetings to Oscar and the owner!, the location might give you a wrong vibe of what it really is. It’s not even dangerous, just a “curious” city block tho :) you can chill, no need to actually worry about! Best Cheap option in center, next to train station (Hauptbahnhof). Enjoy the city!

It’s in absolutely downtown Zurich in the old town, walking distance from everything. highly recommend it if you travel with a tight budget.
