It's close to many interesting places, just few kilometers from really nice snorkeling spots and also a hike in the morning for the sunrise is worth it. There's a few good restaurants with low prices and really good food. Don't miss trying the taco rice. The accomodation was cheapest we could encounter in Japan, and the staff was very nice and friendly. I mean, you get a private room for such a low price, it's totally worth it. The only expensive thing is the transport....which gonna cost you an arm and a leg 😅 but people of Okinawa are very nice, I suggest you try hitchhiking, it's much faster and better than the bus.

We stayed at Kenny and Komaki’s guesthouse in Okinawa in May this year. Our room was very comfortable and clean, well furnished, with a terrace that had a nice view of the garden. The room was tidy, with good utilities such as hairdryer, coffee machine, plenty of clean towels, fridge, etc. The neighborhood was very save and charming and only a 5-minute walk away from an amazing beach. The hosts (Kenny and Komaki) were extremely kind an attentive, as an example they would book restaurants for us daily, as well as giving us a honeymoon cake. It was a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend Kenny and Komaki’s guesthouse. If we were to go back to Okinawa at any time, we would definitely stay there again.

Very good value if you are looking for accommodation in this area. It is very close to the beach and is close to restaurants nearby. I like the facilities offered as well as the cleanliness of the accommodation. Bikes are available for rent, which I thought was great as it helped me to get around the island. Finally, Yuki is a great host and provided an enjoyable stay. If im in Okinawa again, I will definitely be back ! 🙂

Looking for a hostel?

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
