Also the bed was very comfortable.

Hosts were very friendly and accommodating, a good combination of laid back but attentive if you need anything. The breakfast and coffee made a great way to start the day, and the foot baths were a good way to end it. Room was cute, with a small desk and table and chairs outside. Overall the garden area was prettier than the photos.

They told us to feel like at home and we really did. You'll get advice and help with anything you may need. Breakfast is true Vietnamese cuisine, so be ready for a taste adventure: sticky rice, pumpkin porridge, bao or banh mi with Vietnamese coffee. There's a decent beach 15 minutes' walk away.

The bedroom and bathroom were spotless, comfortable, and well-maintained. Thanh and her lovely family genuinely care about their guests—she was especially thoughtful and attentive to my partner when she wasn't feeling well. Thanh made our stay stress-free by helping arrange anything we needed: laundry, scooter rentals, bicycles, taxis, boat tours, bus tickets, and fantastic local restaurant suggestions. The complimentary breakfast was delicious and thoughtfully tailored to our preferences. We enjoyed our stay so much—and there's so much to see and do from Cat Ba—that we even extended our visit. If you need anything during your stay, just ask Thanh directly. She genuinely wants guests to feel at home and comfortable, and she'll happily assist you straight away rather than having you wait or struggle with anything. Highly recommended—this homestay is outstanding value and truly welcoming.

Rooms are spacious and clean and Truong and his wife we're lovely hosts. Their little coffee shop makes great coffees, teas and meals. The homestay is close to all amenities, if you should need anything, don't hesitate to ask, your hosts will always help and they speak great English!
