Staying there was the best decision I made in this trip. Not only the hotel facilities were perfect, but also Saman and his family were really friendly and helpful. They helped me with arranging everything and gave me ideas for planning my trip. It wasn’t like staying in a hotel, it was more like being hosted by a local family ❤️ If you’re staying in Sigiriya you should definitely choose this location. Dew ashi is a very authentic homestay which we totally loved. It is a bit out of town in a rural area, but this was not a problem as Chaaru the owner will transport you into town or sites (for a small fee) such as pidurangula or Sigirya rock if you need- he is readily contactable through WhatsApp. The room and bathroom are clean with mosquito nets on each bed. Tharu and Chaaru with their 2 young daughters made our experience extremely positive and memorable. They were warm and welcoming. We were there over the New Year celebrations which added extra cultural experiences including a traditional celebratory buffet breakfast. They provide filtered water to refill, and large delicious Sri Lankan breakfast. We also loved having a jug in our room to make tea and coffee. When we went on safari they made toasted sandwiches to take for lunch and soursop juice as a pre safari treat. Yum!! Chaaru arranged a brilliant elephant safari with his brother Patum in Hurulu eco park. This was recommended due to the recent heavy rain with elephants moving from Mineriya to this park. We were treated to many elephant sightings very close to our jeep. He seemed to know exactly where to find them. The pool was beautiful, clean with seats poolside. Tharu ran an amazing and informative cooking class and garden tour. We made using traditional techniques 6 different curries, coconut roti and coconut sambal and we feasted on this at the end. We could not recommend Dew Ashi more highly.

Also, she will help you organize anything from a local tuk tuk, Safari to a taxi ride further away! Thanks so much for having us!

The room was spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained, making it a perfect retreat after a long day. The owner’s hospitality was exceptional – they greeted us warmly with refreshing juice upon arrival, making us feel right at home. The breakfast in the morning was generous and delicious, offering a great start to our day. If you’re looking for a friendly atmosphere and comfortable accommodations, Yashi’s place is a must-visit. Highly recommended!

Incredible stay. Very clean and comfortable, with working AC and a ceiling fan. Both warm and cold water for the shower. Most notably, the hosts were fantastic! So welcoming and so helpful. When we arrived they drove us to a scooter rental so we could get our scooter. The one day we had to leave early to go to Sigiriya for the day and they packed us a breakfast to go. Dinner at their restaurant was affordable and delicious. On the morning we left, they drove us to the bus station and stayed with us to make sure we caught the right bus. If you’re staying in Dambulla you should definitely stay here. These may be the most helpful hosts I’ve ever had while travelling across Southeast Asia.

Location is amazing in the Jungle Family owned Heartly welcomed by the Family Owner took care, organised Safari and made a private Tuk Tuk Tour with us for a reasonable price. Also his wife cooked traditional dinner for us (Not included in price, but thats completely ok) During night and day we saw and heard a lot of different animals. I would recommend the Tree House any time, especially for backpacker if you want to see the sri lankan Daily life.
