The warm welcome from Kosala and Vipul has been the highlight of our stay. They really made us feel at home. As we arrived, they were two strangers, but as we left, they were to very good friends to us. They were very helpful with everything, answered all our questions, and Kosala's cooking was always delicious. They were always keen on making sure we were satisfied with everything. The room and bathroom were both very clean and confortable. The bed was also very comfortable. We also really enjoyed the big terrace with table and chair which allowed us to regularly relax, eat and/or work on our computers. The place is situated about 15min drive from the main center but this allows for a very calm and quiet place. Kosala and Vipul's english is very good which allowed for really great exchanges.

The first stop in Sri Lanka for me, my wife and our 17 months year old was Green Leaves Garden and we can highly recommend it! This was a really good way to get to know Sri Lankan culture. Anushka, the host, is such a nice and genuine person and he will help you with everything. We got to eat wonderful local food cooked by his family (if you eat vegan/vegetarian it's not a problem, in fact the opposite), go on hiking, visited different tempels, did a jeep safari, went to a herbal garden, a biological garden, a tea factory, even visited a funeral and got to know his wonderful family and friends. If you want to see elephants we really recommend you to see them in their natural habitat on a safari instead of visiting other places such as the orphanage (when we did research, several sources witnessed of the elephants being mistreated). Anushka picked us up from the airport and drove us to our next destination in Weligama after seven days. He even helped us with a missing bag from the airport. On our trips we always had interesting conversations about Sri Lankan history and current affairs and he was a professional guide on the different activities. We lived in a "simple" mud house which was very common back in the days. The room was spacious, had three double beds, a refrigerator, bathroom and air conditioner. We were in Sri Lanka for 30 days and spend seven days here and it was a great decision. If you want to get to know the real Sri Lanka, learn about it's culture and get new friendships, this is a great way to do it!

Our experience at Elephant Safari Lodge was truly wonderful, but what really made it unforgettable was the outstanding service of Isuru. From the very first moment, he welcomed us with a big smile and a refreshing juice, making us feel at home straight away. He carried our luggage to the room and, throughout the entire stay, he was always attentive, kind, and humble. At every meal, Isuru was incredibly thoughtful and caring, making sure we had everything we needed. What touched us the most was his genuine kindness: he would constantly ask if we were happy, showing a sincere concern for our well-being. His dedication, politeness, and warm attitude turned our stay into something truly special. Without a doubt, Elephant Safari Lodge has in Isuru a true treasure. I came here after a rough day and as soon as I arrived I forgot about it and felt very warm welcomed from this family. Everything is clean, the beadroom and washroom is big. There‘s also a terrace where you can enjoy sunset and the delicious breakfast and dinner (you can get it there for a good price and it’s homemade by the family). If you like nature and silence, this is the perfect place. The owner also helped me out to plan my next stepps and told me some nice places - thank you for that! I enjoyed my stay a lot and would hardly recommend this place - I would love to come back!
