The house is beautiful and in a nice neighbourhood. We got a warm welcome and enjoyed the stay very much. The view into the garden was like in the picture - lovely. I love how the space feels like coming back home, the owner is really kind, funny and I enjoy talking with him and other travelers. We sat all together and had some fun.time. The room I stayed in was a dormitory, the futon mattress was comfortable. I enjoyed the location as well. Even though it's a 30 min walk to the station, it's a really historical area and you will enjoy walking around. I highly recommend it!.

The couple running the place are really kind, they treated me like family. We ate together, chatted together, they told me all the best onsen and restaurants around the house. They were so kind, it’s hard to describe. The house was cleaned and functional and there are a lot of onsen and restaurants at a walking distance from there. I stayed one more day just to be around those people more. Thank you, Taku and Midori for a nice stay.

It was refreshing to explore a place where the pace is slower and the culture feels so genuine. The absolute highlight of our stay was Guest House Chara, run by the kindest elderly couple, Fusao and Toshiko. Their warmth and hospitality made us feel completely at home—it wasn’t just a place to sleep, it truly felt like staying with family. Their house told a story, filled with warmth, history, and the little personal touches that made it feel lived-in and loved. From the amazing homemade breakfast to the delicious ramen dinners they prepared, every meal was made with care and love. The guest house is conveniently located, just a short walk from a supermarket and a laundromat, which made things really easy for us. This personal, welcoming experience truly made our trip special. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a meaningful, off-the-beaten-path experience in Japan. ありがとうございます

Uchi Matsushima Guesthouse terletak di Matsushima, 23km dari Sendai City Community Support Center dan 5-minit berjalan kaki dari Entsuin Temple. The staff there was really welcoming and they could speak perfect English, which isn't a given factor when travelling in Japan. The facilities were pretty good as well, all very clean and modern. I would like to come back here one day.

Terletak 8-minit berjalan kaki dari Zao Hotsprings Ski Resort, Petit Resort Hotel Der Barte menawarkan penginapan 3-bintang di Zao Onsen dan mempunyai taman, restoran dan bar. Fantastic location, right on Uwanodai slope - actual ski-in ski-out. Host was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the restaurant was great and good value. Nice draught beer! Shower in room with a shared hot bath that could be booked for free. There's a ski/boot room in the basement that opens onto the slope. The decor is a bit dated but in a very charming way.
