The location was also very convenient - there's a gas station right in front of the property, a convenience store about a 5 minute walk away, and it's fairly close to many popular restaurants and attractions on Awaji. The guest house was also very cute and perfect for one person.

We loved our stay at this property so much — we booked one night initially but ended up staying for two. The owners are incredibly kind and lovely to talk with, they spoke English well too. They also gave us some very helpful recommendations for Awaji Island. The room was very comfortable and the guest house had wonderful kitchen and bathroom facilities — it also helped the host made a superb morning coffee. Excellent views for sunrise and sunset. Highly recommend and look forward to our next stay.

The guesthouse was my favorite hostel out of the five i stayed in during my trip through japan. The interior is super authentic and quite cute. There’s a lot to discover. The location is perfect, especially if you come for the onsen. But the best is the staff! They were incredibly friendly and i’ve never felt more welcome! When the stores were closed for a few ours due to a tsunami warning, they informed us and even gave me dinner - which was a lifesaver!

It was such a wonderful stay at Guest House Hitotomaru. The rooms are beautiful and the town is peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature. I had the Sashimi set which was exquisite. The location of the property is within walking distance to the attraction places. Unless you have car, 10 to 20 minutes walking distance is acceptable. The property itself is well equipped and you just bring in your stuff and can stay there for a short break like your home. The property itself is a detached single story traditional house, and is a live show case about local Japanese culture. The owner also displays promotion materials about the local environs which suitable for new comer like us in the local community. The property is a quiet place. Having said that, depends on your requirement of "quiet", the property is adjoining to a main county road which means cars are passing through day and night, though not frequent. The owner is a nice gentleman and willing at all time to give you a helping hand in providing advices in the local community such as traveling, dining and sight seeing. To a traveler, a clean, comfort and safe place to stay is essential to release of uncertainty. The property and the owner do this well.
