The interior decoration is just spectacular -but not only , the hotel has a very authentic northern vibe - the views , the light , the design and location by the sea made our stay a truly unique experience - Hotel Karolina was my favorite accommodation during our 10 days trip in Iceland.

The hosts were exceptionally warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Our time there was great – perfect tranquility, stunning surroundings and a very special atmosphere in this renovated farm! One important thing to keep in mind: the access road is a gravel road, so plan accordingly the car rental! 😉

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Nice little house, well equiped and good location. Friendly dog came by every day.

Beautiful cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. They even had an egg slicer. You have a great view to the sea, the room was cosy and the water was hot. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!

Located along the coastline, Við Hafið Guesthouse offers accommodation in Ólafsvík. Guests can benefit from free WiFi. Rooms feature either a view of the sea or mountains. Amazing guesthouse, spacious and with great shared rooms and clean bedrooms. Staff were really friendly and sociable, with a special mention to Tina who spoke with us and took us to a spot to see the northern lights, as well as helping us out with any issues we had at any hour, really perfect service!

This family run guesthouse sits scenically on the Snæfellsnes peninsula on Iceland’s western coast, and features views of the surrounding nature from all rooms, as well as free Wi-Fi. This hotel is on the southern shore of the Snaefellsnes peninsula, close to the water. The modern room (comfort twin with glacier view) was spacious with two chairs, a desk and small table, comfortable bed and a nice bathroom with good shower. There are electrical outlets galore in this room. The weather didn't allow for a view but we would have seen the glacier out of our spacious window if the peak hadn't been covered with clouds. The dining room has a very good dinner buffet and excellent breakfast with many hot and cold items. Location is convenient for visiting the Snaefellsjokull National Park (be sure to go to the excellent visitor center at Malarrif) Budir, Hellnar, Arnarstapi, the black pebble beach, and other amazing wonders of the area. Highly recommended.

Set in the quiet countryside of the Snæfellsnes Peninsula, this family-run guest house is 45 minutes’ drive from Stykkishólmur town centre. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms with everything as described. Beautiful, quiet location. Would recommend.
