The whole place is remarkable - the pool (less known than the big tourist-oriented pools of the west, but cozy and beautiful), its surroundings (decent hiking trails without a single person in view), the room itself, and - last but not least - the staff, very helpful and proficient. The rooms are extremely clean (and I mean it, I saw clinics dirtier than that), the kitchen is well equipped, and the appliances are in good shape. Moreover, the location is very quiet by night.

We had such a wonderful stay at the Old School House. Honestly, part of me wants to gatekeep this place – but of course I won’t. As a half-Icelandic person, this has definitely become one of my new favorite spots to stay in the countryside. We loved the garden, which was open for everyone to use. We actually ended up staying in for both dinner and breakfast, even though we had plans to go out and eat at restaurants. But the garden was just too cozy – we couldn’t resist. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and had an amazing evening watching the sunset. The kitchen and bedrooms were super clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone traveling to Iceland. Magnea and Greg were so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel that they care and want you to have the best stay possible. 10/10, would recommend!:))

Country Dream - Langholt 2 is located in Laugardælir, 7 km from Selfoss. It offers free WiFi, as well as a garden and terrace. Guests can also enjoy an on-site hot tub and sauna. The accommodation is located a bit outside of Selfoss, but it's perfect for exploring the Golden Circle. We really enjoyed the peaceful setting, including the Icelandic horses. The room was decorated with great attention to detail – including a private fridge and toilet. The bathroom was very nice and modern. The common area was always warm and cozy, perfect for having breakfast or preparing sandwiches for the day. We thought it was a wonderful and homely place. There is plenty of parking available.

Exceptional hospitality by the host was great. The room was clean and tidy with a wash sink in the room, and toilet and shower shared with only one other room. The breakfast was just another level. It shows that the host really cares for the guests with a balanced meal. Overall, one of the best place stayed in Iceland.
