I hiked all day without much food. It was a holiday in France and all the stores were closed. Monique immediately gave me some fruits, meat and bread. She also phoned restaurants nearby to see which one was opened. The day I left, we had breakfast together and she also gave me some bread to take along. Never been treated so kindly.

The room, decor and cleanliness 10/10. The bed was comfortable and we liked the small lounge area we had. The bathroom was huge! The stained glass windows told a story of local history and the beautiful courtyard was just coming into bloom. The breakfast provided by Sabine was something else! Local cheeses and delicacies, fresh fruit, fresh bakery products and homemade preserves. Plenty to prepare you for wine tasting in local wineries and vineyards.

Sophie and Pasqual were fabulous hosts, providing breakfast, recommendations to Christmas markets in the area, and even helping us to secure a reservation for dinner one late evening. They went above and beyond to cater to our young child who said "I wish we could live here" when it was time to go (very high praise from a 7 year old boy). There home is a great base for anyone wanting to take in the Alsace region and was between 20 min- 2 hours to some of the best Christmas markets in the world...the purpose for our holiday this year. We will be back!

Set in a typical Alsatian timbered house, Le Hameau d’Eguisheim offers B&B and self-catering accommodation on an estate with a vineyard. A brilliant accommodation in the middle of Eguisheim. The small courtyard, which is locked at night, gives some distance to the hustle and bustle outside. The rooms are very comfortable and the common terrace is definitely a plus!
