Our stay at Chalet Sofija totally exceeded our expectations (which are quite high), from the moment we arrived till the moment we had to leave. First of all, the location of the chalet is out of this world, with views that take your breath away from every angle you look, whether from the room, while enjoying a nice dip in the infinity pool or eating breakfast or dinner from the terrace. The photos do not do it justice, it is unbelievable how beautiful this place is. Secondly and not less important, the hospitality of the hosts, Pop and Aleksandra together with the Manageress Alenka was exceptional throughout our stay and they went out of their way to make us feel at home and that is how we felt during the whole of our stay there. To top it up, the food was expertly prepared and was one of the finest dining experiences we have encountered, exceeding the level of many Michelin star restaurants we have dined at. Pop’s innovative cooking presented us with amazing and delicious dishes with a twist, not only for dinner but also for breakfast. He also served us with very good Slovenian wines that went really well with the dishes served. And, if this was not enough, the room was huge, exquisitely and modernly decorated but perfectly fit with the surrounding nature and offered panoramic views over the surrounding mountains and forest, with a huge terrace from where we could enjoy this beautiful nature up close. I don’t think we will ever find an accommodation in Slovenia that comes even close to what we experienced at Chalet Sofija.

Stunning surroundings! I am so glad I decided to stop here for two nights during my bike packing trip. Great spot to start beautiful hikes, cozy food, nice staff. Go out at night and look at the stars! Also super appreciated they have free tampons and pads in the bathroom, never seen this in a hut and thankful for that!!

I got there early, and not only did they let me check in early, I also got a room upgrade! The room was very nice, I had everything I needed and more, a little fridge and kettle in the room, tea and coffee and an option to have breakfast delivered. I really enjoyed my stay and would definitely recommend staying here!

New and very clean room, super quiet even though it is above restaurant, one couldn't hear a thing. Great place to have some rest after active day, I really appreciate hangers for wet clothes in the room, which could come great to anyone coming for skiing, biking or hiking. During the night, with opened window I heard few times near by cows and sheep which was so adorable and added into whole pleasant, nature near, relaxing atmosphere. I recommend the place.

Great landlords. There was an opportunity to talk to Rudi, who is the Slovenian ice hockey legend. Very friendly reception. Good location. Modern furnished and cosy apartment. Comfortable beds. Auto parking in front of your door. Everything you need in the kitchen. We were very pleased.
