Had a really thoughtful conversation with the owner about the history of the area, who was able to share perspectives of Slovenians who stayed in the region after WWII. (My family emigrated from a neighboring town to the US after the war) After visiting this gorgeous place, it was easy to see why my grandfather missed his homeland so much.

Breakfast and dinner were excellent, featuring fresh, local ingredients and homemade specialties that showcased the best of Slovenian cuisine and an incredible selection of wines. They were also kind enough to accommodate my dietary restrictions, ensuring that every meal was a delightful experience. Novak Guesthouse is a special place, and we hope to visit again in the future!
