She also made an effort to share the stories behind some of the figurines she gave the kids using the translator. We had a great time!

We had a great stay at Yufuin Sunday. It was so clean, neat and peaceful. We enjoyed the private onsen and beautiful views of Yufuin mountains. During our stay, there were two more groups staying in the house so we took turns using the onsen. The staff member who picked us up from the JR station was very friendly, polite and thoughtful. The host is hospitable, attentive and detail-oriented. He puts in a lot of efforts to keep this place welcoming and comfortable. I would highly recommend it!

Pension Yufuin prides itself on an outdoor public hot-spring bath featuring large rocks, that’s unique in Oita. It also offers a garden, a terrace and free WiFi at the lobby. An unbelievably helpful host and a beautiful location in lovely Yufuin made this one of the most memorable places that we stayed at in Japan. Highly recommended!

As of may 2025, the Guesthouse only has one group at a time, so you will have it all for yourselves. Location is nice, not too far from the main locations and bus stop. Owner is super friendly.
