Comfortable Accommodations: Onsen Guest House Tsutaya in Hakone offers comfortable rooms with private bathrooms, air conditioning, and mountain views. The hotel is amazing! Very clean and cozy. Staff is extremely polite. I read in comments that it was the best guesthouse/hostel travellers stayed whenever before. So, I can confirm this! It really is!

It was clean, safe and quiet. There is a kitchen so you can eat your meals at the guesthouse and don’t need to worry about finding food. They offer a shuttle to the nearest station and museum which was a great help as the guesthouse is a bit secluded in a quiet neighborhood. There are hiking trails nearby and would love to visit again and explore more of the area around the guesthouse.

Open from August 2017, Guest House Wagokoro offers a modern Japanese-style accommodation an 8-minute stroll away from JR Nippori Station. Each room comes with an en suite bathroom and toilet. When travelling to a completely new place for the first time, one of the best things you can find is a warm, friendly welcome and kindness from your host that exceeds your expectations. Going back to Wagokoro at the end of a long day in busy Tokyo city was like coming home to family. We had lovely conversations and always felt taken care of - I even felt so comfortable practising my basic Japanese with our hosts as they are so nice to talk to us every day. The room was lovely with wooden interiors, and we really loved hanging out in the common room. The common room had an equipped kitchen, free tea and coffee, and cute tables to sit and have a snack or meal. There are also lots of good places to eat around the hotel, and the train station was just a 7-minute walk away. Wagokoro had a level of hospitality that we have never experienced before, it's definitely a place we would like to stay at again next time in Tokyo :)

Great location and staff. Beds are amazing. I came during the winter not well prepared for the cold in the mountains which the staff noticed and the owner gave me a very warm coat.

I like that Mr.Takahiro was very kind and welcoming to his guest house. At the time, I was able to talk and share a lot in the warm communal space at the guest house. I was also able to meet other guests while staying. This was a really unique experience.

A traditional home situated in a beautiful, quiet neighborhood about 10 minutes away from train station. There’s a communal kitchen and living room for use as well as a private onsen that you can reserve. Hiro, the host, is very accommodating and will provide rides when needed. His English is really good and his sense of humour even better. His knowledge of the area and itinerary suggestions worked very well for us. We’d highly recommend the local izakaya 800m from his place.

The place is just a few minutes walk from JR station which is super convenient. The host is friendly and helpful, sharing lots of information about the city with me. The restroom and toilet is clean with shampoo and body wash provided. The bed is spacious enough and comfortable. I will definitely come back in the future!
