We’ve been travelling for 25 days in Japan with our family of 4 and this has been our best experience. We arrived after riding our bikes all day and were greeted by the hosts with hot orange juice, tips on where to get food and even got a lift to get take out as they informed us the best restaurants might be closing soon. Our kids even got a present in the morning. Everything in the room is thought out - the bunk beds are bigger than normal with power outlets. There are Imabari towels. The showerhead is glorious. There is a lot more space then the pictures give away and you wake up with amazing sea view. If you’re doing the Shimanami Kaido or are looking for a place near the beach - stay here.

Schedule is not regular but easy enough to navigate. Space is large and very well thought out with sleeping room, hang out lounge and nice kitchen with table and chairs. Very well equipped and spotlessly clean. Great place to base for walks in area. Huge bonus was Izakaya down the street. Super refined and tasty. We enjoyed our stay.

The staff are very friendly, it is right next to Dogo onsen. I came late and had a top bunk, I was offered a bottom for my second night, however I got back late again and they were all taken. Bit then, I was offered a private room. Lovely. Also the private room had the most comfortable bed I have slept on in 4.5 we eks in Japan. So if you are sick of sleeping on the hard japanese beds, give this place a try.

17 km from Henjou-in Temple, Cyclo No Ie is located in Imabari and provides air-conditioned rooms with free WiFi. It is set 18 km from Kawara Museum and offers a shared kitchen. Kawaranofurusato Park is 18 km from the guest house and Hojo Kashima Shrine is 28 km away. I spent one night at Cyclo-no-Ie. Everything was perfectly clean, I stayed in a dorm which slept 4 females and at night it was very quiet and comfortable. The innkeeper was very friendly and helpful and spoke English. When I asked for restaurant recommendation, he suggested "Kabuki", a family-run sushi restaurant which I loved. The hostel is a couple of minutes away from the train station on foot. I highly recommend it. Great value for money!
