The traditional Icelandic architecture blends seamlessly with modern amenities, creating a perfect balance between authenticity and comfort. The rooms are spacious, beautifully designed, and immaculately clean, offering a cozy retreat after a day of exploration. The tractor theme and the story behind in (including the cowshed) are a highlight! The breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains and nearby coastline from my room were simply awe-inspiring. The breakfast, featuring a delightful array of local and homemade delicacies, was a true feast for the taste buds. (Especially the homeade jam!) The use of fresh, locally sourced ingredients added an extra touch of authenticity to the dining experience, making it a perfect start to the day. Beyond the physical aspects of the guest house, the staff's extensive knowledge of the local area and their genuine passion for sharing Iceland's rich history and culture truly sets Drangar Guest House apart. Their recommendations for nearby attractions, hidden gems, and off-the-beaten-path experiences allowed me and my husband to explore Iceland in a truly authentic way, creating memories that will last a lifetime. We would love to back in the winter!

Monika manages a very orderly, pristine guesthouse, dirty dishes are cleared promptly and she is ever attentive to guests' needs or queries. We appreciated how clean, cozy & well stocked her shared dining/kitchen area is, ample servings of cereal, milk, spreads etc... If you're looking for a homestay that goes beyond self check-in & check-out with a personal human touch, Holiday Guesthouse is the cozy stay for you in charming, serene Styykishholmur....also appreciated the Icelandic pronunciation lessons! "Rekyaveeek", "Veeek" & "Olasveek"....Takk Monika!! 🫶🙂 P/S : Bonus supermarket is literally in Monika's backyard....convenient! 😋

Located 6 km from Stykkishólmur, Helgafell provides a garden and free WiFi. All rooms feature a flat-screen TV with cable channels and a private bathroom. Location. Excellent facilities.

Set on a farm 8 km from Grundarfjördur, this modern guest house offers a 9-hole golf course, plus free Wi-Fi and parking. Snæfellsjökull National Park is 40 minutes’ drive away. Everything, this place is just amazing! The cottage is in the middle of nowhere, surrounded by the mountines and with a wonderful seeview. I will come back for sure if I'll ever be in Iceland again, which I really hope. Breakfast was served directly in the cottage and every kind of food was provided. Everything was just perfect!

Beautiful cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. They even had an egg slicer. You have a great view to the sea, the room was cosy and the water was hot. Our only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!
