The host's husband, who was filling in while she attended to family matters, was very friendly and even gave us a tour of his hurling stick manufacturing and shop. It's a gated yard, so it felt very secure, and the breakfast area had everything you needed for a little snack or a good start to the day!

On the West bank of the River Shannon, Shannonside House is set within large, private gardens. Guests can enjoy home cooking and free parking, and Athlone's centre is a 5-minute walk away. The place is clean and beautifully decorated, with very comfortable beds and pillows. There is a cozy courtyard, and the location is in a quiet area, perfect for a relaxing stay. Bus stops are close by, which makes it convenient to get around. The host is extremely hospitable, friendly, and attentive to personal requests.
