Ranakeliya Lodge Yala was simply the perfect choice! The lodge is located in a beautiful, peaceful setting, close to Yala National Park, making it a fantastic starting point for a safari. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and had a really cozy atmosphere. We spent one night here. The hosts were incredibly kind and helpful. The food was also fantastic and plentiful. I can only recommend this place!

The tent was very comfortable and clean, staff attentive and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. But the best thing was the safaris. Well planned with extremely knowledgeable guides. Especially Mark is a walking encyclopedia of local history, geography and fauna and passed on his enthusiasm for the local wildlife. Thoroughly recommended.

Food was a highlight. The location was magical.

This tent features a seating area, private entrance and dining area. We had an incredible stay at Yala Wild Hut. From the moment we booked, the communication was excellent—they reached out via WhatsApp with all the necessary details, making everything easy and straightforward. Upon arrival, we were picked up by jeep from the entrance, as the road to the campsite is a bit rough, but it’s only a 5-minute ride. When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with refreshing drinks, and the staff assisted us with our luggage. The food was delicious—lunch was flavorful and a bit spicy for our taste, but still very tasty. After lunch, we took a complementary walk around the campsite, which was a great way to enjoy the surroundings. We then watched a stunning sunset while enjoying some snacks prepared by the staff. The host was incredibly friendly, attentive, and polite, making us feel very comfortable throughout our stay. Dinner was also fantastic, and the following morning, we went on a safari. While we didn’t have luck spotting leopards, we saw elephants, crocodiles, birds, deer, and peacocks. The safari was a memorable experience, though the driver seemed a bit rushed at times. Before the safari, we were served coffee and tea, which was a nice touch. Afterward, we enjoyed a hearty breakfast, and the staff arranged our transportation back. The jeep took us to the entrance, and once again, the staff helped with our luggage. The hut itself was charming, well-maintained, and very clean. The beds were comfortable, and the large bathroom had everything we needed. The location truly made us feel immersed in nature while still providing all the comforts. There were also friendly and well-behaved dogs on the property, adding to the homely feel. Overall, we had an unforgettable experience at Yala Wild Hut and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique, nature-filled stay with great hospitality!

He organized two full day safaris for us - one in Block 5&6 and one in Block 1 of the Yala national park. They were both amazing and we could (besides elephants, monkeys, crocodiles,...) observe 4 leopards and even a mother with her cub! 😍 The huge tent with the veranda was just perfect. We could even observe several animals like peacocks and mungos directly from there. One evening the host's mum spontaneously cooked for us and we even got the dinner served to our veranda. Another evening he took us by car to a restaurant. So overall it was a great experience and I can only recommend this place.
