This boutique hotel offers fantastic accommodations. The staff was just wonderful. We met Allan at the front desk, along with Chichi and Erick at the restaurant. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy. We enjoyed dinner there twice, accompanied by live music from some great artists

This was a divine place to stay. The resort is split into several houses with rooms on ground level and first floor. The rooms on the first floor have high wooden ceilings. The AC is very good and silent. WIFI is also fine. The view from the balcony is breathtaking. You live on a hillside opposite to the volcano and have the volcano in full view. The view changes all the time due to the weather. You can spend hours on the balcony. This is proper rain forrest and it rains daily. Half the experience of living here is walking the hotel grounds either by day or in the evenings carrying a flashlight. There are all kinds of critters to see. There are many trails to explore. There are always hummingbirds buzzing around and toucans visit from time to time. After a week you will know the different birds by their calls. We visited in late august and can highly recommend coming in the rainy season. Everything is green and fresh and there are flowers everywhere. You also avoid the crowds. The hotel was only about 20% booked which gives the visit a very private and exclusive touch. The nearby Mistico park was also not overrun. The same goes for the volcano trails. You pay by credit card everywhere. You can let all tours and extra costs go to the room and just pay a total at the end of the stay. Just bring cash for tips. We came for nature experiences and didn't use the pool, bar or the spa. We can recommend the Caño Negro and the Coffee & Cocoa tours.

Located 14 km from Arenal Volcano National Park, Lomas del Volcan offers lush gardens, an outdoor pool and a hot tub. Each air-conditioned cabin has free Wi-Fi and flat-screen cable TV.

Absolutely clean! The complimentary hotel tour around property with David was better than some paid tours we booked outside of hotel. He spotted camaflouged howler monkeys right outside front desk area. His telescope came in very handy. He took us to the farm to make refreshing sugar cane water. Very nice surprise

This hotel property is absolutely stunning. The balcony in room 25 looked right out to the volcano and each morning we'd see varieties of birds, rainbow and yellow toucans included. We even heard the roars of howler monkeys!
