Situated in a 12th century Augustin Convent, the Pousada Mosteiro de Guimaraes overlooks Guimarães. Rooms are equipped with modern amenities including air conditioning and cable TV. I felt like royalty spending time in my own castle! The staff was wonderful, went out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. When I asked if there were books available in English, the manager went out of his way to take me to a bookcase and pointed out a few books he had particularly enjoyed. Being an avid reader, I found this charming! I enjoyed the comfortable bar and lobby area and had a very good hamburger there.

Everything about the hotel was beyond beautiful. The space, the building, cleanliness, ambiance, the extravagant decor! It was all very lush and fabulous. Very airy and modern, great rooms, fabulous scenic view from ours on the 9th floor! Absolutely loved every minute of it, couldn't get enough pictures! Staff were very attentive during dining experience, both at breakfast and dinner meal! Glasses never ran dry, food was exceptionally fresh, perfectly seasoned, just beautiful.

Carmo´s Boutique Hotel offer elegantly decorated units, located in Ponte de Lima. It features an outdoor swimming pool, a spa, and organises exclusive visits to the area. I cannot say enough good things about this charming little hotel. Only a one night stay and I wish it had been longer. The staff, the grounds, the rooms, the decorations, the views, and everything else about it far exceeded my expectations.
