Highly recommended, take the sailing boat trip with Hugo as your captain.

We loved everything about it. It’s a little piece of heaven. The staff were all amazing. The daily activities were all fantastic. We only stayed for 3 nights but managed to do 2 yoga session, an afternoon of SUP’ing, a water colouring class, a mezcal tasting and a massage. The highly was definitely the sunrise SUP’ing. It’s a must. Make sure you book a room with a lake view as it’s definitely worth the money!

Hotel Casa Hormiga mempunyai basikal percuma, kolam renang luaran, taman dan teres di Bacalar. The zen-like atmosphere of the hotel. It was a very soothing, serene place. The staff were really nice too. We loved our stay. Definitely recommend.

Casa Chukum - Hotel Boutique mempunyai basikal percuma, kolam renang luaran, taman dan ruang tamu berkongsi di Bacalar. The staff is the absolute best. They are so friendly and accommodating. You feel more like family than a a customer.

We arrived very early, 6am and the hotel were very accommodating and provided us a room straight away. We had booked a room with sea view. The wi-fi was not working upon arrival and shortly after checking in we were offered a room on a different floor, the WiFi was working on that floor but the view from the room was amazing. I woke every morning to watch the sunrise during our three day stay there. I would definitely recommend a room with view of the lagoon. See attached pictures of sunrise. The staff have a basic grasp of English and it was more than my Spanish but they were very helpful and where we couldn't understand each other we used Google translate. We had meals in the restaurant, the menu was changed whilst we were there and compared to other places nearby the cost was slightly cheaper. There is a small pool and some seating by the lagoon, it was nice to sit by the lagoon and watch the boats go by and also there was a bit of a breeze there. It was very hot and humid during our stay so the breeze was much welcomed. Our room was a good size, we had two double beds. The air-conditioning was much needed at some times to cool down and worked well. There is a smart tv although we didn't really use this much during our stay. Taxi was arranged for us to go to the bus station when we were leaving. Overall really enjoyed our stay at the hotel, it was a 20 minute walk to where we had arranged a boat trip of the lagoon and less than ten minutes by taxi to a supermarket. Highly recommend and would not hesitate to stay if we visited again.

A beautiful property by the lagoon in Bacalar, the pool was spectacular and we loved all the lounging options around the pool, the jumping platform was also good fun. Breakfast was delicious with a great selection of both more western and Mexican options. We also had a dinner at Waah the adjoining restaurant which was fantastic! The staff were very attentive, in particular Norman who went above and beyond to take care of us. We couldn’t recommend Hotel Makaaba more highly!
