Gastehaus Schloss Saareck is situated in Mettlach, in a beautiful park on the banks of the River Saar, near the scenic Saarschleife valley. All rooms are fitted with a flat-screen TV. We have chosen the hotel for a one night stay in the city of Villeroy & Boch. The castle is romantic, charming with great surroundings. We loved our room. Even if it was hot, the room was equipped with a classic ventilator that helped us circulate the air. The bathroom looked amazing (not the one with bathtub), quality materials and very clean. We ate dinner in the restaurant and the food was very good.

The apartment is brand new, very clean and comfortable with a beautiful terrace with a garden view and a view of part of the Luxembourg skyline. It really felt like home. The bus stop is a few meteres away. Communication with the owner was quick and smooth, check-in is super easy, I was even allowed to check in a little earlier which I very much appreciated due to the scorching heat on the day of my arrival. I absolutely recommend and would no doubt stay again.

Upon my arrival I felt I had the 'flu, but Marnia quickly realise that it was worse than that. Two days later she called the SAMU who, somehow, she got to arrive within one hour. She stayed with me until they had loaded me, via a second floor window, into an ambulance and I was in hospital within two hours. Marnia then visited me in the hospital having bought me new pairs of pyjamas and slippers(!) and good things to eat. Her hospitality, always with a smile, even in the darkest moment was exceptional. One never knows when things are running smoothly how a person will react in a crisis. Marnia was quite perfect, cool, calm, collected and resourceful, knowing exactly both what to do and how to get it done. Thank you Marnia from the bottom of my heart for all you did, possibly to save my life. And the fact that you look like Catherine Deneuve added to the pleasure of the experience! Ciao!
