I was running the Zermatt Marathon, the hotel is close to the train station, so perfect to make it to the start in the race day and they opened breakfast earlier for the runners on the race day

I recently stayed at Gasthaus Morgenrot and absolutely loved it. The rooms were simple but very cozy, with that classic alpine charm that instantly makes you feel at home. The view from the terrace in the morning was unforgettable: peaceful, quiet, and surrounded by nature. The owner was extremely warm and friendly. The room was very well appointed and comfortable, and the location was great. (To be fair, in a place as small as Turtmann the location could hardly be bad, but being right by the church was lovely.) Breakfast was fantastic consisting of absolutely delicious local produce (very local!!). We were able to make tea and coffee in the kitchen area and had our own shelf in the fridge which was a very good idea and much apprecicated. I would be very happy indeed to stay here again.
