Ryokan Asunaro: A Traditional Japanese Inn in Takayama. Nestled just a 6-minute walk from Takayama Station and the Nohi Bus Center, Ryokan Asunaro offers an authentic Japanese inn experience. Very nice Ryokan. Room was super big that had sitting/tea area. We ordered the dinner separately and it was a very nice experience too.

Sumiyoshi Ryokan berjarak hanya 1 minit berjalan kaki dari Pasar Pagi Miyagawa yang popular di tengah-tengah Takayama. We have traveled to so many countries and stayed at so many homestays, hotels, bed and breakfast - you name it. This place, however, was one of the best - if not THE BEST - place we have ever stayed at - WORLDWIDE! such a friendly atmosphere there. The food is simply AMAZING!! the views are mind-blowing. The hosts are extremely friendly and go above and beyond to make your stay the best ever and as authentic as it can get. This is exactly what we had wished for during our Japan trip. It was simply great and madr our trip to Japan. The elderly man, his wife and their son as well as the whole staff was exceptional. ARIGATO! THANK YOU SO MUCH! PS: the onsen with views to the river (and the second one as well) is simply true bliss. Great!!!!!

Located in the centre of Takayama Historic District, Ryokan Tanabe 旅館田邊 is one of the most historical ryokans in the city. It features Japanese-style rooms and free WiFi in all areas. The location is the best, close to station and old town area. The food is great. and staffs very helpful

Situated at the heart of historic Takayama Old Town and just steps away from Takayama Jinya Morning Market, the traditional Honjin Hiranoya Kachoan offers personalised hospitality, hot spring baths... the experience of a Japanese dinner and breakfast was awesome. The staff was incredible and could not have done a better job with the breakfast and dinner. The owner of the property was amazing, she went out of her way to get us our bus schedule and tickets to Shiranawa and Takayama, she took me to the bus station to buy the tickets and pay for the taxi on our return to the hotel, she could not have done a better service. our party of four was very impressed with our stay on October 16th to the 17th.

Designed by Shinji Kagawa, the stylish AKARI et KAORI formerly Taizanso is a 10-minute drive from Shuzenji Train Station. We were the only ones at the ryokan because it was off season so we had the entire onsen to ourselves. Food was also very good

Located a 5-minute walk from JR Nagoya Train Station, The Royal Park Canvas Nagoya offers free WiFi throughout the property and a high level of security. Staffs are very helpful. Room is so clean.

Just 40 metres from restored Edo-era post town Magome-Juku, Chaya Hotel has simple traditional rooms with futon bedding and a tatami-mat floor. I loved the atmosphere in Magome Chaya, it is traditional, and I enjoy the futon beds which can feel a bit hard for someone prefering soft matrasses. We had a lovely view from our room overlooking the mountains. The day we were in Magome was very warm but inside it was cool and pleasant. We additionally ordered food ( breakfast and dinner) in vegetarian option which was delicious. Host was very friendly and helpful

Hida Takayama Hodakaso Yamano Iori is just a 3-minute walk from JR Takayama Train Station and a 10-minute walk from Old Town and Takayama Jinya and Miyagawa Morning Market. Great room space, nice location

Awarded in 2014 with TripAdivsor’s Certificate of Excellence, Takayama Ouan features traditional Japanese designs and tatami (woven-straw) flooring throughout. The hotel is very close to the train station so that was super convenient for us because we are heavy packers. Very friendly and helpful staff. We loved that onsen, we loved the breakfast and the free ramen in the evening. Everything was perfect.
