Located in a forest, Tokonamiso offers a nature retreat with Japanese-style rooms, barbecue facilities and free WiFi access in the lobby area. Excellent value for money. Big comfortable room with nice view of garden. The onsen facilities at the more expensive sister hotel are beautiful- indoor and outdoor baths, and in the forest. The shuttle bus took us from tsumago, and then back to train station the next day.

The hotel was very comfortable, included many nice amenities, the staff was very friendly and helpful, very nice installations.

Boasting various indoor and outdoor hot spring baths, Izumiya Zenbe is a historical Japanese-style accommodation with a chic ambiance, established in 1876. Izumiya Zenbe is LOVELY - I don't think the photos do it justice. The staff were incredibly welcoming and helpful. The building was an amazing old structure with beautiful little gardens in the walkways. The room we had was very nice, with tatami mats and futon beds. We loved the tea set and the little table with the heater underneath...! We also booked the breakfast and dinner service, and we are very glad we did. The private dining spaces and kaiseki experience was awesome. As was cruising around the ryokan in our yukata robes. We only used the barrel bath, rather than the rotenburo, but it was so good (although very hot!). A very relaxing place, we would happily stay here again.
