Surrounded by countryside at the borders of Tuscany, Umbria, and Lazio, Altarocca Wine Resort Adults Only has several buildings, rooms and welness suites. Free parking and free WiFi are available. the staff were so helpful and welcoming and went out of their way to help organise a taxi for me when there was a train strike! The restaurant food was wonderful, as was the pool. Breakfast on the terrace was delightful. A delightful spot to stay for a couple of nights.

Hotel Il Palazzo is set in the left wing of Palazzo Bartocci Fontana, a 16th-Century building halfway between Assisi's Basilica of Saint Francis and Piazza del Comune square. We were already in this hotel with my husband 4 years ago, so there was no question that we would come back to the same place. Everyone at the reception was as nice as possible, on the first day they gave us directions to the restaurants in the area, which we tried and had very enjoyable lunches and dinners in the restaurants. The hotel rooms are impeccable, very clean and tidy. We loved the breakfast, as well as the service was perfect. We have never met such a kind and pleasant welcome.

It has the best pool on our travels to date. They let us check in really early. The room had an amazing view over the Umbria Valley. On the morning we left they let us start our breakfast 30 minutes early.

The room was very clean, spacious, comfortable, and beautiful. The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was delicious. I’m happy we stayed here, and would gladly stay here again!

This was an exceptional stay; the hotel is an easy walk from the parking available to tourists, and you are immediately transported by the charm and beauty of Assisi. The room was beautiful, blending an ancient construction (very deep window wells and stone walls in the breakfast room) with all the modern conveniences. The bed was the most comfortable we slept in during our two weeks in Italy. The breakfast was delicious, with a choice of main dishes that were prepared on the spot and sweet baked goods, espresso and juices. The homemade crostata was incredible.

Just a 5-minute walk from the historic centre of Foligno and set in a historic building, Relais Metelli is 200 metres from Foligno Train Station. This hotel is a real gem. It’s beautifully presented, the location is perfect, just a few minutes from the bus drop off point, the train station and the town. It’s the perfect location to explore the region. The staff are exceptional and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. We arrived at 9.00am and had emailed to ask if we could drop off our luggage. When we arrived we were offered coffee and breakfast which was amazing!!! We spent four nights and honestly we couldn’t have been happier.
