Aretusa Vacanze is located in a completely renovated 17th-century building at the centre of Syracuse's Ortygia Island. It offers self-catering rooms. Great location, in the heart of Ortigia. Spacious and clean room. The room had a kitchenette and a fridge. We took breakfast at the terrace on the roof, where we could view the sea. Stefano was a great host, advising us about restaurants and boat trips.

A special mention to Cristina, who greeted us upon arrival with such kindness — she really became the face of Syracuse for us. Breakfast was fantastic, and every moment spent here felt special. I would love to come back someday. Highly recommend!

Set in the Ciane and Saline Nature Reserve, Hotel Borgo Pantano is located 7 km from Siracusa and the nearest beaches. It offers countryside views, a peaceful location and an outdoor swimming pool. The hotel was perfect for our purposes, a few days to relax on a country resort in a beautiful atmosphere. The highlights are clearly the pool, the breakfast and the powerful AC in the hotel room. The reality also surpasses the pictures of the hotel. What should be clear about this resort - you choose it precisely because of its remoteness in the countryside. A rental car is thus mandatory to explore Syracuse and the surrounding area.

Set on Ortigia Island overlooking the Ionian Sea, Algilà Ortigia Charme is right on the seafront. It features elegant, air-conditioned rooms equipped with antique furnishings from the 1700s. Breakfast was fantastic: eggs cooked at the minute, good choice of coffee, fantastic biscuits and fresh orange juice. The service was on point: we got help to reach a sand beach and great recommendations for food.

This boutique hotel is in the centre of Ortigia, near Piazza Duomo. It is set in a historic building with high ceilings and stone walls. Each of the 6 rooms is spacious and unique. Giovanni is a wonderful host, with nothing too much trouble. My room and terrace were large, with great air conditioning. So well located, with everything close by in this stunning part of the world, and his restaurant tips were superb. Great to compare French and Sicilian croissants for breakfast!

Palazzo Artemide - VRetreats is in the heart of Ortigia Island, next to the Cathedral. It offers free lobby Wi-Fi and modern, air-conditioned rooms. The facilities, ammenities and staff were simply amazing. Ortigia has to be seen to be believed. It is like a fairy tail.
