This place is completely awesome. The people working there were so excellent and helpful. The view from the terrace is unbeattable, it was so beautiful. The rooms are very cozy and clean. This hotel is one of the best hotels we have stayed at.

Overlooking Matera’s Sasso Barisano, Fra I Sassi Residence is set in restored 17th-century buildings inside the Matera Sassi UNESCO site area. Beautiful location right in the heart of Matera. Easy to walk to shops/restaurants/city square. The front desk staff was incredibly kind and helpful to recommend restaurants, and even booked us a reservation. The room was very clean and well-kept. Breakfast was well done and included cuisine from multiple countries.

The hotel and the staff are fantastic, the staff are super helpful and the hotel is beautiful. The pool and parking are fantastic when travelling by car. It’s a 20 minute walk to town, east on way down bit steep coming back but loved the exercise. Staff so helpful with maps booking restaurants etc. definitely recommend !

Featuring free WiFi throughout the property, La Dimora Di Metello offers modern accommodation in Matera's Sasso Barisano, 300 metres from Matera Cathedral. It was simply amazing! We fell in love with this Sassi! We booked a normal room, nevertheless the staff offered us the suit for no difference in the price. It was the best stay we ever had - so authentic to the city and in the same time comfy! After a long day of experiencing Matera (lots of walking and climbing) we were able to enjoy the bathtub and had a great rest! The breakfast was also very delicious. We recommend this property with both hands! ❤️

L'Arturo B&B offers modern-style rooms in central Matera, 50 metres from its Cathedral. Free WiFi is provided in the entire building. L'Arturo B&B was centrally located in the picturesque old town of Matera with wonderful views over the sassi. Arturo and Monica were wonderful hosts - incredibily kind and helpful and went out of their way to assist us with taxis and recommendations for restaurants. Monica warned us beforehand not to bring big suitcases as there are many stairs down to the guest house. They kindly helped us with our luggage. The decoration of the room was quirky and modern and contrasted with the beautiful and well renovated old building Our room was very spacious with a nice terrace with a table and chairs. Restaurants and shops were all within walking distance from the guest house. The breakfast on the terrace with a view was scrumptious with fresh pastries, bread, cheeses, tomatoes,fruit, cereals, jogurt,milk ,coffee, water, and juice - so much to choose from.
