Mirella and her beautiful energy were “bellisimo!” Cute, cute, cute, tutti! The weather was fresh and cool. Be sure to catch a tour of the Torre. Visit Arianna’s gift shop full of her art. But the breakfast in Mirella’s kitchen with the gorgeous window views were spectacular. This is the the best breakfast of our whole trip in Italy.

A few steps from the main square in Sulmona, B&B Il Marchese del Grillo offers air-conditioned rooms with free Wi-Fi. Housed in an 18th-century building, it features a panoramic terrace. Everything! Our 2nd time here and we love this place! The rooms are beautiful, great attention to detail, fantastic roof terrace and court yard and a great breakfast- the lady that runs it is lovely too.

Adriano is a great host. The accommodation is better than in the photos, it is stunning. Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Loved it here, so peaceful.

Sextantio Albergo Diffuso offers unique accommodation in the fortified medieval village of Santo Stefano di Sessanio, deep in the Abruzzo hillside, at 1250 metres a.s.l. It was just stunning. I was lucky to find this hotel. Room, Restaurant and People in the reception and restaurant were just perfect. I had a rest there. Hopely come again and stay longer there.

La Locanda del Parco offers rustic, elegant rooms in a quiet area with views of the Gran Sasso Natural Park. Il Giglio Rosso restaurant serves specialities of Teramo, and a selection of local wines. Perfect location right under the mountains. They automatically upgraded our room for larger one since we arrived with two little kids (thank you again!). Large tub, minifridge in the room, which is amazing. Also, they sent us an email with tips for trips in surrounding area, which we used and we did not know about before (like Calanchi di Atri).
