Built in 1843, the Neoclassical Hotel Aktaion Syros is located right on the port of Ermoupolis, within walking distance of the town’s historical centre. Full marks and bravo to owners and staff of Aktaion hotel! Location was superb right on the waterfront of Ermoupolis many rooms enjoy unlimited sea views of bay and the hills above making it a postcard perfect location. This is a very historic aristocratic mansion kept in excellent condition a perfect blend of traditional style with modern facilities and comforts. Professional staff very knowledgeable with spot on recommendations for sightseeing restaurants and more, truly every advise was with no doubt excellent! Breakfast was very generous, very tasty large portions and great variety of choices. Excellent location service and atmosphere will be back for sure! The top shared balcony is postcard perfect ! Thank you Aktaion hotel for a perfect stay !

This little gem is under new management and the new proprietors Konstantina and Harold are the heart of the undertaking. Their open friendliness and genuine passion about the place make all the difference. Always helpful with the best tips for the island and more. The breakfast with fresh and local produce with delicious baked goods by Harold was another highlight. Our room had a fantastic view taking in the whole bay and the comfortable bed was heaven after days of busy exploring. The little fishing town was one of the loveliest on the island, a very good base from where to venture out. A rooftop terrace for a sundowner and the beach across the street made it a very relaxed spot for a very comfortable stay indeed. We wish them all the luck for many more successful seasons to come!

Boasting a privileged location, just metres away from Ermoupolis centre, Hotel Ploes is housed in a listed, early 19th-century Neoclassical mansion. Ploes is my new favorite hotel! It’s absolutely stunning, the art details, the care the owners have taken in restoring it, it’s simple but elegant and almost like staying in a good friends home. Our bedroom was gorgeous, the amenities were just right, the access to swim is amazing and unlike anything I’ve experienced. The breakfast is the best I’ve had at a hotel! The staff are incredible and go above and beyond, there is nothing they won’t do to make your trip amazing.
