Just 3 miles from Halifax, this family-run 17th-century inn has an award-winning restaurant offering excellent locally sourced food and a cosy bar. There is free Wi-Fi and traditional log fires. The breakfasts are the best I’ve had anywhere. Delicious coffee, brown or white toast with honey or homemade marmalade, jams etc. Large selection of cereals with various fruits and toppings with delicious thick yogurt. Also a choice of hot porridge/oatmeal and cooked vegan, vegetarian and breakfast options in generous portions. What’s not to like! The room was tastefully decorated and very clean, with the bed in particular warm, and very comfortable. The bathroom had a lovely heated towel rail and bathtub/shower with copious amounts of hot water. Lovely thick towels in plenty and a dressing gown provided. The WiFi was excellent throughout and a radio and tv were available.

In the pretty village of Calverley, this 19th-century inn is just 7 miles from Leeds and offers an on-site pub with hearty food. Free parking is available, and Leeds Bradford Airport is 6 miles away. Almost everything.....room n bathroom very clean...linen n towels also....washed well n soft...comfortable bed n pillows.....breakfast excellent.....appreciated kettle n plentiful supply of coffe n tea at all hours......staff all very friendly n helpful....especially Jo Christine n Millie......lovely atmosphere n not noisy even at peak evening times......great....
