Renovated in 2015, this hotel in Obertraun on Lake Hallstatt in the Salzkammergut region offers panoramic views of the scenic lake and the Dachstein Massif. Such a wonderful hotel, I feel lucky to have managed to get a room. The location is stunning, next to the lake and surrounded by beautiful mountains. Swimming and sunbathing by the swimming pool in the early evening sunshine was such a relaxing experience. The breakfast was excellent and the staff were super friendly and efficient. Although they say the rooms are basic I found my room to be very good for the price. It was comfortable and cosy with a useful terrace. It was clean and had a lovely smell of pine. The lack of air conditioning was not a problem even with the temperature outside being over 30 degrees when I stayed. The location is in a village so it is quiet, but there is a restaurant and shop, and it is easy to access more facilities in Hallstatt by boat. Good location for hiking and cycling, and walking distance to the cable car. I am definitely planning to return for a longer stay!

Set in the beautiful Trauntal Valley, the 3-star superior Hotel Moserwirt enjoys a quiet location surrounded by the Austrian Alps. A jacuzzi and free Wi-Fi in the lobby are offered. Spacious room with many amenities. Secured parking spot. Everything was super clean. Moreover, breakfast was amazing. We also had dinner at the restaurant which is excellent. I would recommend it to everyone. Thank you to all the nice personnel that made our stay special.
