Is easy to get there and then is self service so easy check in and check out. Great experience. Enjoyed the outdoor hot bath, which the property also offers indoor sauna (but note operational at selected timings only). The room is lovely with a window overseeing the 'boat on the dock'. There is a common area for people to gather and chat, with central heating in the centre. The breakfast buffet was great too, served in the restaurant, and you get to enjoy nice views as well ... however, they close the restaurant when breakfast is over, meaning all patrons will be asked to adjourn elsewhere. The bar is open in the evenings, but pretty pricey so go easy on the alcohol :)

Opened in June 2018, Hotel 1001 Nott offers modern accommodation 5 km from Egilsstadir. The hotel features outdoor hot tubs overlooking Lake Lagarfljót. There is also an on-site bar. We were traveling around Iceland and this horel was the best one. Hotel is located in wonderful nature by the lake, but only few minutes drive from Egillstadir. Staff is very kind and friendly. Breakfast was very good and fresh.

Situated in Gardur, Lighthouse-Inn offers accommodation with free WiFi and a garden with a sun terrace and sea views. All units feature air conditioning and a satellite flat-screen TV. This place was amazing. The location was ideal — especially as I had been to Iceland before and I was only doing an overnight stay (and didn’t need to drive into Reykjavik.) The facilities and breakfast were great. The location allowed me to have a short stroll to the lighthouse and get some great aurora photos!
