    La Crosse is one of the most beautiful places in the country. We lived in that area in the 70s and 80s and wished we never moved away. La Crosse is an old river town that has kept it's charm and has a vibrant downtown.

    We went in a dinner cruise Saturday night with our friends from Minnesota. It was so relaxing. The dinner was delicious. It was very relaxing to sit on a bench by the water and watch the boats go by.

    We visited the grandad bluffs and went hiking on the trails. It was beautiful. We also went on the Prime rib sunset cruise which was very nice too. We ate at the Crow bar. Great food and awesome old fashions.

    Have never been to LaCrosse before.

    Have never been to LaCrosse before. Confusing in the fog and adequate for no expectations. It was obviously an 'old' city, with lots of character. I like to adventure, but it could have been better. It takes 2 days to travel from home to MI to see my children, so was nice to see someplace new, but was not expecting to be so old. Would like to see it in the sunshine sometime, with the time to actually explore. And some of the downtown roads rattled my car to the point of wondering if I was going to make it home.

    Nice area with beautiful views of the bluffs and of the Mississippi river and so much to offer from stores, such as grocery, and convenience stores, gas stations, fast food and sit down restaurants and every type in between. It is a must do as far as where to travel and where to stop in when passing by or passing through it is definitely a must and so worth going out of your way to swoop in just to experience the City!!

    We visited the Shrine and that was well worth seeing.

    We visited the Shrine and that was well worth seeing. You could spend at least a half day if not more on the beautiful grounds. Downtown was a mess with construction, so we did not walk through or purchase anything from businesses.

    This is great basic accommodations. The room was nothing fancy, but met all our needs. It was quiet and clean. The breakfast was a good, typical, chain hotel breakfast with scrambled eggs, sausage, biscuits/gravy and waffles. There was also a fridge and coffee maker in the room. The bed was comfortable.

    I love the old school feel of the hotel I would have loved for there to be an elevator to take our stuff upstairs but the stairs were nice looking. The pool was huge and the kids had a blast there.
