There was a McDonald's right outside the Hampton Inn hotel along with a BP gas station. Hillsville did not have any coffee establishments (Dunkin, Starbucks, Panera) so that was disappointing and not many choices for restaurants but the hotel we stayed at was great. I only spent a short time in Hillsville, but it was very beautiful there. Most of the people I met there were very nice. We ate dinner at Toasters Deli. What a great find! The sandwiches were delicious. My BLT had thick bacon, fresh tomato and lettuce and a wonderful sourdough bread. My husband had the American sub. We also had a snickerdoodle cookie that was warmed for us. Delicious! We for there only 30 minutes before they closed, but they welcomed us. Hillsville, the town was okay.
Hillsville, the town was okay. Only issue was the Motor Lodge. We had a nice meal at Fiddlers Restaurant. Enjoyed looking and riding up and the three main roads around, other than I-77. This is not a luxury hotel.
This is not a luxury hotel. I tried it once because of good reviews a few years back. It is dated but who cares. I just want a clean comfortable room with a refrig and micro and this is great. TV is great and good list of channels after a long drive. I have stayed here multiple times every year now while traveling.
